We have completed our first quarter.  Parent/Teacher's conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 28.  I have appointment reminders in your child's mailbox.  I am looking forward to visiting with you.

I hope the students have shared the study tools that I have introduced to them.  We are now using Socrative to study for Social Studies.  It is a great study tool that allows the students to practice no matter where they go on their ipods or internet capable appliances.  We also are allowed to use Quizlet. In this sight you need to search Harcourt Social Studies 5th grade.  You can search other subjects as well.

Halloween is fast approaching!  Students have had a good time making "Frankenstein" with salt cartons, and spooky shoe boxes.  Thank you for sharing your supplies.  We will soon need light bulbs so please send them to school when they are no longer working.

Wow!  We are clipping through the year!
Our state reports are complete and the students did a wonderful job.  We know how to gather information, use topic sentences and organize our paragraphs to put our information in order.  The projects will be displayed over conferences.  I have pictures to show presentations.

The Homecoming parade was a blast! Candy came home equally divided among the fifth graders.
October is here.  Salt containers are needed!

State projects are due anytime they are completed.  I would like to begin presentations on the 13th.
We do not have school on the 16th or 17th due to Instructional Conference for Educators.

Keep an eye out for information on Parent/Teacher's conferences.  I sent home summaries of student performance last week.  I hope you found these helpful.

Park day! It was a cold day to play for just too long so the day ended with a movie!

Wrapping up our last full week of school.  Students enjoyed a day in Bismarck participating in the Marketplace for Kids activities. Students were exposed to a wide variety of classes and needed to use their map reading skills to find their way around the Civic Center.

Although our track meet was cancelled the students filled their day with Math task cards and wrap up activities.  We will travel to Cooperstown on Monday, May 12.
